The 2010 Event
On November 13, 2010, Walla Walla General Hospital will hold its annual Gala. This formal affair includes dinner, a live auction, and entertainment by our guest speaker. This year we are proud to welcome Charlie Plumb, a decorated fighter pilot and former prisoner of war.
Plumb is former jet fighter pilot and decorated combat veteran who was shot down on his 75th mission over Vietnam. He parachuted into enemy hands and spent nearly six years in Communist prison camps. After being repatriated in 1973, Plumb was awarded the Silver Star, two Purple Hearts, the Bronze Star, the Legion of Merit and the POW Medal.
Instrumental in starting the flight school now known as Top Gun, Plumb is also an author, a consultant for the U.S. Navy, and a sought-after speaker.
Plumb’s stories and views on overcoming adversity are sure to inspire!
The evening of November 13 will be complete with great food at the Marcus Whitman and our live auction featuring Gale Crosby, renowned auctioneer from Portland.
Proceeds from the gala will fund comprehensive patient room renovations to improve the caring and healing environment and aid patients in their recovery.
Please join us – we’d love to see you there!
